GENERAL QUESTIONS
Q: How is SleepSafe different then other traditional gun safes?
A: SleepSafe is the only company that manufactures furniture with biometric safes built in. Each piece is custom made and can be built to blend seamlessly in with the rest of your furnishings.
Q: How is my SleepSafe powered?
A: The biometric scanner is powered by a single 9V battery. There is no need to have a nearby plug or worry about what happens if you need access to your safe during a power failure. Battery life will vary with how much you use your safe, however with typical usage, you can expect the battery to last around one year. To ensure reliability, we recommend that the battery be changed when you change the batteries in your smoke detectors (when you change your clocks for daylights savings time twice a year).
Q: How long does the battery typically last?
A: The battery will typically last for about a year. A low battery indicator will be displayed on the scanner allowing you ample time to replace your battery.
Q: How do you replace the battery?
A: The battery is easily removed and replaced. The battery is harnessed in clips like many other electronic devices. Simply unclip the old battery and replace it with a new one.
Q: When the battery dies, does the scanner lose any programmed codes or fingerprints?
A: No, the scanner does not lose any codes that have been set or fingerprints that have been scanned. Simply replace the 9V battery and you are ready to go.
Q: What happens if I forget my code?
A: SleepSafe recommends you place the guide you received with your safe and your unique master code in a safe place (and not your SleepSafe). If you should misplace your guide, you can contact SleepSafe at 1.888.667.6630.
Q: Are your safes fireproof?
A: No, our safes are not fireproof. SleepSafe developed our products with our primary goal of keeping children safe.
Q: How long does it take ship my safe?
A: For custom built furniture, it takes about 4-6 weeks from the time your payment is received. For products purchased on sale from our site as is, your item will be shipped within 24-48 hours after receiving payment.
Q: How many fingerprints does the scanner hold?
A: The scanner can hold up to 30 fingerprints. We recommend storing fingerprints for each finger on your dominant hand so that under stress you do not have to remember which finger you scanned.
Q: What size is the standard SleepSafe drawer?
A: The compartment in our standard product is: 20”w x 5-1/8” h x 15-7/8” d. It will easily hold two regular sized handguns. Our custom furniture drawers can be as small as 16"w x 5"h x 12"d and as large as 48"w x 20"h x 24"d.
Q: Can’t someone just pull the drawer face off to get inside?
A: No. Your SleepSafe features a patented, fully enclosed, 12-gauge steel box with a “clamshell” drawer design. This means that the drawer actually goes inside the rest of the box to help keep the drawer protected from prying. A thief could actually pull the whole box out of the furniture and still not be any closer to getting inside the safe. It is a true "safe" and not just a locking drawer.
RETROFITTING
Q: How much do I pay up front for retrofitting?
A: SleepSafe requires a deposit of 10%. The remaining balance is due at the time of delivery and completed installation.
Q: Do I need to ship my furniture to SleepSafe to have it retrofit?
A: No. SleepSafe will schedule an appointment with you to come to your residence/office. During the appointment,
we will assess your furniture. If it is suitable for retrofitting, we will take measurements and provide you with an
